TWO C360R HONDAS IN TOP TEN IN ALABAMA
2012 Civic Si's Notch Best Results so far at Challenging Alabama Circuit
Birmingham, AL -- Compass360 Racing's four Honda squad delivered the new 2012 Civic Si's best results thus far during the second round of Grand-Am's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge at the picturesque Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. The race, which was marred by lengthy cautions during its initial hour, did showcase some intense racing throughout the latter half of the race as the 70-car field fought in the close quarters of this challenging, twisty track.
Although it looked like a podium and another top five result might be possible towards the end of the race, a late-event caution bunched up the field which meant our #75 car driven by Ray Mason and Ryan Eversley finished seventh, our #74 car of Andrew Novich and Adam Burrows was 10th, the #76 of John Kuitwaard and David Thlienius was 21st and the #77 of James Colborn and Bo Roach was 22nd (the latter two having a fierce battle in the closing stages).
As far as the development of our new 2012 Civic Si goes, we're pleased with two top-tens in just the second race, and look forward to further improvement when we go to Homestead and New Jersey in April/May.
